Israel's Law of Return gives every Jew, or child or grandchild of a Jew, the right to Israeli citizenship on demand.

Antonio Conte also publicly expressed doubts about his future as manager after the cup final and Chelsea has been linked with a series of replacements even though Abramovich has not fired the Italian, who has a year left on his contract.

Israel grants citizenship to any Jewish person wishing to live in the country, with Abramovich reportedly granted an identity card under the Law of Return.

An Israeli official says Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has received Israeli citizenship after his British visa was not renewed.

"Those with Israeli passports are non-visa nationals, which means they do not need a visa to come to the UK as a visitor for a maximum period of six months", a spokesman for UK Prime Minister Theresa May told the Guardian. There were delays in renewing his United Kingdom visa which had expired, and it was speculated he may have been caught up in rising tensions between the Britain and Russian Federation.

Abramovich's spokesman John Mann refused to comment, saying it was a personal matter.

Since Abramovich submitted the renewal, there has been plenty of speculations as to why the UK Government are delaying issuing his visa.

He has previously served as Governor of Russia's Chukotka region.
