Trump Asked Sessions to Retain Control of Russia Inquiry After His Recusal

Despite the quasi-admission on Tuesday, Trump is unlikely to quit his near-obsessive tweets railing against special counsel Robert Mueller and the investigation into ties between his campaign and Russian Federation. He also called for the probe to look into old foes like Hillary Clinton and former FBI Director James Comey.

"Who's going to give back the young and attractive lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt?" he asked.

"It was Trump himself who said, 'I didn't collude with Russian Federation but if anyone did, I want the Federal Bureau of Investigation to find that out, '" Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, said. "There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats".

President Donald Trump used to be concerned that using the term "deep state" to describe a supposed political conspiracy against him in the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice would make him seem "too much like a crank", according to The New York Times.

"Why didn't the 13 Angry Democrats investigate the campaign of Crooked Hillary Clinton", tweeted Trump, in an apparent reference to the courtroom drama "Twelve Angry Men".

Under pressure from the White House and congressional Republicans, the Justice Department last week held an unusual pair of briefings for lawmakers on the FBI's use of the informant, whom Trump has repeatedly cast as a "spy" implanted in his campaign.

Hawaiii County Civil Defense said that lava had reached the Puna Geothermal Venture Plant, covering a well. Marines are on standby, ready to airlift residents if lava cuts off more streEts, leaving people stranded.

The former NY mayor, who received a less-than-flattering birthday greeting from his hometown Monday, added that Trump's frequent tweets bashing the probe are working to his benefit.

Reporting soon after quickly revealed there was indeed an informant, a British professor named Stefan Halper, sent to meet with Trump campaign officials. "Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!" Mueller is a Republican appointed by Trump's own deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, who is himself a Republican.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, President Donald Trump attacked former President Obama and Democrats who worked in the administration.

"If Trump has nothing to hide, why does he act as if he has everything to hide?" asked New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof.

"We are more convinced, as we see it, that this is a rigged investigation", the attorney told CNN in a separate appearance.

"If they don't show us these documents, well, we are just going to have to say no", Giuliani told Fox.
