Salah's Injury 'Serious', Says Liverpool Boss Klopp

Mohamed Salah has insisted he is "confident" he will be able to feature at the World Cup this summer despite several reports claiming the Egypt worldwide will be sidelined for a significant period.

With the match still goalless, Salah fell to the floor writhing in pain after his left shoulder got caught underneath Real captain Sergio Ramos as they fell to the floor in midfield.

However, Salah's dream campaign turned into a nightmare in the final in Kiev as he was substituted in the first-half of Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.

Real got one back in 63rd thanks to a wonderful goal from Gareth Bale - as poor as the first goal was, there's no denying that was a goal worthy of a Champion's League final.

The Egyptian FA wrote on Twitter that the organisation was "optimistic" he could return for the World Cup, which starts in less than three weeks.

It was also agreed that Salah would remain in Liverpool to receive proper treatment and rehabilitation, after which he would then join the Egyptian team camp in Italy at a later time determined by the doctors, Aziz said. He is in hospital for an X-ray.

Asked about his goalkeeper Loris Karius' mistakes, Klopp didn't want to blame the player.

The Reds' notoriously speedy winger is facing a race against time to be fit for Egypt's first World Cup game of Russian Federation 2018 against Uruguay on June 15.

"It is a serious injury".

Salah took off from the field in tears.

Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp issued the following update on Salah's "very serious" injury when asked if his participation in the 2018 World Cup is in doubt.

The Egyptian Minister Youth and Sports Khaled Abd Elaziz also expressed optimism."Mohamed Salah, God willing, will be on the national team list for the World Cup, which is to be announced on June 4", Abd Elaziz said on Facebook.

"With the season that he's had, it's not the way you wanted to see this end [for him]". Ramos said: "Sometimes football shows you it's (sic) good side and other times the bad".
