Monaco GP 'wasn't really racing' - Lewis Hamilton

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton completed the podium but the pair didn't have the tyre life or the space on the tight city street circuit to make any serious move on the ailing Ricciardo.

Webber's relationship with Vettel descended into turmoil during their five years together at Red Bull in which the Australian was beaten by his team-mate to four consecutive titles.

"We were very nervous because in the beginning it looked like it could even the auto further but then we changed the set up, changed his driving style so unbelievable".

Hamilton, and Mercedes, are by no means confident that their vehicle is massively suited to Monaco's winding twisting track. You have got to take the attrition out of it by qualifying on pole and controlling the race yourself.

Hamilton's contract with Mercedes expires at the end of the season and there could be a vacant seat at Ferrari if they chose not to retain Kimi Raikkonen.

Fernando Alonso meanwhile had to retire his McLaren whilst in seventh position due to a gearbox problem, and the Spaniard was critical of the course for it's lack of action.

"A tough old race out there", Hartley said.

Since he still refused to leave, his parents filed for an ejectment proceeding to end what some might call a failure to launch. Judge Donald Greenwood on Tuesday ordered Michael Rotondo to vacate his childhood bedroom in his parent's Camillus home.

Red Bull Racing star Daniel Ricciardo claimed a dominant victory in the Monaco Grand Prix - despite suffering from a powertrain problem for the bulk of the race. Carlos Sainz took the final point on offer in the second Renault.

Nevertheless, Vettel's power advantage was offset by tire struggles; Ricciardo scampered away in corners, and Vettel surged back on the straights and through the tunnel. "It's frustrating with such a fast auto bot to have both cars on the front row of the grid".

From then on, Ricciardo - with Vettel looming in his rearview mirrors - was a model of consistency on a track where overtaking is a challenge for even the greatest of talents.

Lewis Hamilton kicked off the pit war with a stop after lap 12, emerging behind Esteban Ocon who allowed the Brit back past on lap 15 as Vettel dropped in for tires. You race other people but ultimately the track is the one you have got to beat. It was yet another mistake from the Kiwi in what is becoming a run of missed opportunities for the Le Mans victor.

"It was a serious problem and he managed it unbelievably", Marko added. "Just the race tomorrow and then we will celebrate", Ricciardo said. "I don't know how much of the radio was broadcast, but we had a lot to deal with during the race". I felt a loss of power and I thought the race was done. I got home just using six gears.

Stoffel Vandoorne: "This was a disappointing race for me. We won Monaco. It feels good". Thanks everyone for the support.

A virtual safety vehicle period ensued, and Ricciardo was the main beneficiary as he emerged five seconds clear of Vettel with just three laps to go.
