Trump Tells Naval Academy Graduates: 'We're Respected Again'

President Donald Trump addresses a U.S. Naval Academy graduation ceremony at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, May 25, 2018 in Annapolis, Md. "In recent years, the problem grew worse".

President Donald Trump on Friday told the graduating class of Naval Academy students that the US military is "respected again" under his leadership.

As he hailed the late Bruce Van Voorhis of the class of 1929, a war hero and one-time Nevadan, Trump joked that the Naval Academy graduate "spent most of his time teaching city slickers from the East the correct pronunciation of Nevada". A lot. We are not going to apologize for America. That money will be used in part, Trump said, to grow the US fleet closer to his goal of 355 ships, up from the current count of about 280.

"We are respected again, I can tell you that", said Trump, hailing the Navy's ability to vanquish all enemies.

"I fought for you", said Trump of the raises. "A growing number used their platforms to. weaken America's pride".

A New NAFTA Deal Doesn't Seem Close, Despite Deadline
US House Speaker Paul Ryan had said he needed the written agreement by on Thursday if the Congress was to approve NAFTA this year. The three countries are racing to overhaul what US President Donald Trump has called the worst trade deal ever signed.

The commander-in-chief praised America's booming prosperity, where he said we are proud again as America rediscovers its identity and regains its stride.

The president surprised the graduates by remaining until he had shaken the hands of each one. Trump told the graduates that "we have begun the great rebuilding of the USA military". "And when did we need it more than now?"

Trump will give the commencement speech in Annapolis Friday, a day after highlighting American military preparedness as he canceled a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un (kim jawng oon). "We know the best way to prevent war is to be fully prepared for war".

"Let me take a guess you're still not exhausted of winning".

"America is back", Trump told the sea of graduates sitting side by side in blue and white dress uniforms.
