Eric Gordon sank two free throws with 2.4 seconds left, and the Houston Rockets eked out a 98-94 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday at Toyota Center.

A 13-year veteran who is one win away from his first NBA Finals appearance, Paul reached for the hamstring after missing a runner in the lane with 51.7 seconds left.

"We know what we're capable of, we know that we can win two games", Green said.

And if the Rockets are able to do that in Game 6 on Saturday night they'll be on the way to their first NBA Finals since winning consecutive titles in 1994-95. When asked about Game 6 on Saturday, Paul responded, "Oh, yeah".

Needless to say, Twitter had some reactions to the NBA's most-hated team now being one game from elimination. He scored 20 points, including several key 3-pointers, in the Game 5 win.

The initiation of the trade investigation could be seen as an attempt to gain leverage in the talks with the two USA neighbours. Neither has a presence in the USA , though PSA has plans for a return to the American market.

Paul had been having a bad game up until the shot in the third quarter.

The Rockets honored victims and survivors of the deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School on May 18 before the game. Paul jabbed Curry and stepped back to hit a long 3-pointer.

The Rockets went 15-6 this season in games without Paul when Capela and Harden were in the lineup.

Just as it looked as though the Warriors would clean up against the Rockets, Houston put in a monster performance in Game 4 to swing the momentum back in their favour. "We'll just continue to take it day to day.".

CP3 drained a number of outrageously hard three-pointers that ignited his team and the crowd when the Warriors threatened to take control.
