UBS predicts Germany to win World Cup 2018

The maiden tournament is expected to take place in 2021 with China a host. However, FIFA has yet to make a decision on where it will be held.

But AFP quoted UEFA boss Aleksancer Ceferin as saying: "FIFA should not be meeting with only seven federations or clubs and discussing with them things that concern all of European football". "We see it that way as do other important clubs in Europe, who see the possibility favorably". Teams like Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid would potentially be in contention to take part. The 24 clubs would share a pot of approximately £1.5 billion with the victor earning £100 million and a guaranteed £50 million just for participating.

Barcelona have announced its support to the new Club World Cup because, according to a statement by the Catalan club, "it would contribute to the growth of the brands of the clubs and would provide a new source of income".

Opposition has risen to the proposals, with the PFSC claiming the "hasty timing and lack of concrete information" around the process had concerned them.

Bobby Barnes, the European president of global players' union FIFPro, is a part of a committee that will meet in Lyon at some point today to talk about the plans.

Amazon launches 8 new voices for Alexa Skills
The online retail giant said Wednesday that developers can now apply to test the voices, which were built to sound like U.S. For example, in an adventure story or game, developers can give distinct voices to different characters.

Russian Federation will host the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2018, with the championship set to kick off on June 14 and continue through July 15.

Funding for the new tournament is being put up by a consortium of investors led by Japan's SoftBank and backed by the likes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The PFSC, chaired by the Uefa president, Aleksander Ceferin, incorporates the European Club Association, the European Professional Football Leagues and the European division of the players' union, Fifpro.

The cream of club football will compete in the tournament. So if run correctly, then I think Liverpool should consider the offer.
