More changes coming at Tesla as Model 3 production hits critical phase

Tesla officials and Utah police wouldn't provide additional details Monday about the Friday evening crash that left the Tesla Model S driver with a broken ankle. The driver of the Unified Fire Authority vehicle was checked for injuries related to whiplash; however, he was not taken to a hospital for evaluation.

A Tesla spokesperson did not comment following the disclosure about the use of the feature.

"The vehicle frame was bent and there was significant damage", Winkler said. In August 2015, when Tesla shares were around US$260, Morgan Stanley had a US$465 price target, with Jonas predicting that the company would introduce "Tesla Mobility, an app-based, on-demand mobility service", which could be worth as much as US$244 a share.

The crash is one of several Tesla accidents now under investigation. "They said they'd put it at the top of their priority list".

Federal regulators are not investigating the crash of a Tesla electric vehicle this weekend, as Utah police try to determine whether the car's semi-autonomous Autopilot feature was switched on.

The discovery and tracking of near-Earth asteroids is an ongoing global project which includes NASA as well as other agencies. For those hoping to catch a glimpse of the asteroid, it will be visible with a telescope for some people.

Autopilot, a form of advanced cruise control, handles some driving tasks and warns those behind the wheel they are always responsible for the vehicle's safe operation, Tesla has said. Last month, Musk sent an all-hands email decrying meetings, the chain of command, Tesla's contractors, and excessive spending, but it seems that he isn't done.

Swiss firefighters have indicated the impact of a fatal crash involving a Tesla auto may have triggered a battery fire, causing the vehicle to go up in flames. The NTSB investigation will no doubt cover this issue, but Tesla has yet to confirm any facts in this case. Tesla is at a critical juncture as it tries to fix an inauspicious launch of the Model 3 sedan, a mid-market vehicle crucial to its success and future profitability that has been plagued by early production problems.

The National Transportation Safety Board has not opened an investigation into the crash, spokesman Keith Holloway said, though it could decide to do so.

It's not the structural design of Tesla cars at issue here, but the reliability of Autopilot.
