Australia shooting victims 3 generations of same family

This could be the worst mass shooting in Australia since a lone gunman killed 35 in Tasmania in 1996, prompting the nation to introduce tough gun controls.

A family of seven was found dead early Friday (May 11) morning by Australian police. Also, police do not conduct searches of the suspects, because there is a suspicion that the killer was one of those killed was a suicide.

According to police said that five bodies were found inside the house, and two, respectively, in the yard.

Dawson would not confirm or deny reports of a murder-suicide, but noted that they were not seeking a suspect in the mass killing.

"This is an horrific tragedy for any person involved and, clearly, officers and other first responders attending these sort of scenes, they find it tragic".

The police commissioner said homicide detectives were helping local police with the investigation, supported by specialist units and a chaplain.

Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased, but a family friend told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. that the seven victims were Peter and Cynda Miles, their daughter, Katrina, and Katrina's four children, whom the Daily Mail said were ages 8 to 13. "We know where the call was made from, we know who's phone the call was made from".

Facebook posts by Ms Katrina Miles and her mother referred to the children as all being autistic and homeschooled.

On top of that, Stories are now moved back to the right-hand side of the app, leaving the left side reserved for private Snaps. For starters, both Snaps and Chats are once again displayed in chronological order.

WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson confirmed the guns belonged to Mr Miles.

"I wish to offer my condolences to the family and to the community about this bad tragedy", Cr Townshend said.

The Miles family were known in Margaret River as loving people, well liked and well respected around town.

But locals in the local community say they "can't get their head around" the suggestion that Mr Miles could be responsible.

A woman, her four children and her parents were killed in what's believed to be a murder suicide. Former United States President Barack Obama [VIDEO] often used Australia's strict and well-regulated gun control laws as an example as an outline for American gun control laws.

"Many people who know the family are deeply feeling the loss".

The Augusta-Margaret River Shire is trying to pull the community together, offering professional support services at the Margaret River Community Centre on Tunbridge Street and encouraging people to leave flowers there as a tribute.

The Miles family were active members of the local community, with Cynda Miles hosting sewing bees at the Osmington Road property.
