Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Nepal on Friday assuring the Himalayan country that it will be at the top of India's Neighbourhood First policy. "Without Nepal, our Ram is incomplete", PM Modi said. In his third visit to Nepal as Prime Minister, Modi will also be visiting three Hindu pilgrimages in the country.

Modi told Oli that he was extremely honoured "to be received you the way you welcomed me here".

After holding talks over gamut of bilateral relations and inaugurating a hydropower project in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a number of tweets hailing the ties between India and Nepal. "This is a historic moment", Modi said at the inauguration.

"This will act as a foundation for our economic development, cultural ties and a strong people-to-people contact between the two nations", he added. He was felicitated with a 121 kg garland and a key to Janakpur city.

Modi announced that the Rs100 crore package for the development of Janakpur and its surrounding areas will be spent on different development projects forging collaboration between the central government and the local government of Province No. 2.

Federal government ministers Ishwor Pokharel, Giriraj Mani Pokharel and Matrika Yadav were present at the programme.

The permit was granted in line with the decision of the 30th meeting of IBN's board of directors chaired by Prime Minister Oli on April 28, according to an IBN official.
