Chelsea win gives Conte late hope of top-four finish

Chelsea are now fifth in the Premier League table, and sit two points behind London neighbours Tottenham, with a further three points behind Liverpool who they defeated last season.

"The present is now to finish the season in the best possible way with my players".

Midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to keep his place after turning in one of his best displays of the season in Sunday's win against Liverpool.

And, after Chelsea put themselves back in the hunt for a top-four finish with a 1-0 win over Klopp's men last weekend, the German boss is particularly appreciative of the extra preparation time.

"[It] will be a hard game but we have one week - that feels like a year and we will use that. Today they drew against Manchester City, we want three points and I will probably make rotations because the players spent a lot of energy against Liverpool, but we must face the situation with great pride and we must show we are still alive".

Eden Hazard (69) is one goal short of moving outright third on Chelsea's list of leading Premier League goalscorers.

"If you analyse all in context, I think it is an fantastic season".

He broke his throwing hand just before the season previous year , allowing Haskins to leap over him as the No. 2 quarterback. Meyer did not officially name a starter coming out of spring practice.

"Now there is not time to regret".

Chelsea still have two games against Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United and they need to win both games and wait for Tottenham and Liverpool to lose points. "Usually when you have to play a must-win game, it is not easy". They have two games at home.

Tony Cascarino is convinced that Liverpool FC have what it takes to beat Brighton and secure their place in the top four this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be a top-class defender but we have seen a few occasions in recent months when the opposition have targeted him on the right side of the Liverpool defence.

The Blues are seeking to sneak into the Premier League top four and Conte promised changes after Sunday's win over Liverpool, which Morata missed.

A statement from the club confirmed Gomez's season was over, saying: "The surgery means the 20-year-old will play no part in the remaining two fixtures of the 2017/18 campaign, or the World Cup finals with England".

"This season was a hard season, but not only for Morata", said Conte, who declined to address speculation the striker could leave this summer.
