Jaylen Brown: Doctors Said not to Play Game 2

Jaylen Brown: Doctors Said not to Play Game 2

Simmons failed to score a field goal for the first time in his career as the 76ers suffered an 108-103 defeat at TD Garden on Thursday to go 2-0 down in the second round of the National Basketball Association playoffs.

Ben Simmons blamed himself, rather than the harassing Boston Celtics defence, for his horror game for Philadelphia on Friday that saw him end up with a personal tally of just one point and five turnovers. Brown immediately scooped up a loose ball and threw down a jam to get the crowd on their feet. Scrappy is one way to describe the Celtics after they trailed by as many as 22 points in the first quarter before storming back to take the lead in the second half. "Team-wise, I think we made too many errors when we had that lead and we need to stay on it".

In the meantime, will the Celtics take a 3-0 lead when these two sides meet again. However, the injury was at a place Brown got to have his say. He made both foul shots with 3.4 seconds left to give Boston a five-point victory.

"But Tatum has been awesome, it just seems as though when you get a player who can raise the level of their game at playoff time, you've got somebody special". It was the first tie of the game since the opening bucket of the game. Boston led by as many as eight in the third quarter and took the lead for good on Marcus Morris's three with 4:13 to play.

But an 11-4 run put Boston back in the lead 99-95 with less than four minutes to play.

In Simmons' 31 minutes of action, the Celtics outscored the Sixers by 23 points.

Reserve point guard T.J. McConnell was a spark off the bench for the Sixers. If the Sixers were to lose one of the next two games, they'd be forced to win twice in Boston to win the series. On the other hand, Simmons is averaging 18.2 points, 10 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game. The Sixers held a 91-88 lead with seven minutes left in regulation.

Cowboys' Jason Witten Retires to Take 'Monday Night Football' Job
I just think you have to make choices with where you're at in life and what's going on around you. Witten made six playoff appearances with Dallas but never advanced past the divisional round.

Sixers center Joel Embiid, rookie point guard Ben Simmons and power forward Dario Saric would be major players in this rivalry.

"We'll see if he's able to go through any of (tonight's) walkthrough and, if he is, he'll be a game-time decision", Stevens said.

Tatum hit two free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.

While Simmons' night to forget wasted strong efforts from role players Robert Covington and J.J. Redick, who combined for 45 points on 9-of-16 shooting from deep, Boston once again capitalised on another impressive performance by Terry Rozier.

After out-scoring the 76ers for the second-straight quarter, and a quick 10 points from Tatum in the third, the Celtics led 79-75 heading into the fourth.

Celtics' "X-Factor" Al Horford posted a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double, while shooting 55.5 percent from the field.
