The Evolution of the Boy Scouts of America

Boy Scouts of America will drop "Boy" from its main program name, in an effort to be more inclusive.

The "Family Scouting" approach is quickly gaining popularity across the country, underscored by the thousands of boys and girls signing up under the Early Adopter Program for families in Cub Scouts.

This change will coincide with the timeline set for girls to join that program in all-girl Troops. This gender-neutral term will affect the program for 11- to 17-year-olds and allow girls and non-binary youth to join. The organization has said the decision to admit girls to the Cub Scouts was in response to the needs of families and because of dropping membership. I think this move will be a disaster and I expect the next regime in an attempt to clean up the mess will change it back with a massive ad campaign that may be too late.

"We are, and will remain, the first choice for girls and parents who want to provide their girls with opportunities to build new skills".

"Boys and girls will get to experience, learn and enjoy this great youth program called scouting", Bohn said.

"We've been advocates for it for a long time, and if we can help girls as well as boys, we need to do that", said Larry Abbott, scout executive and CEO of BSA Grand Canyon Council.

Trump Says Time, Place Set For Meeting With North Korean Leader
South Korea's national security adviser, Chung Eui-yong, is now in Washington for talks with his USA counterpart John Bolton. For Trump, withdrawing troops would have multiple benefits, said Victor D.

Also on Wednesday, Scouts BSA announced a new campaign for the Cub Scouts, "Scout Me In", that features female Cub Scouts.

This decision triggered a backlash from critics including The Girl Scouts of the U.S., an entirely separate organisation, with president Kathy Hopinkah Hannah writing Boy Scouts officials accusing them of a "covert campaign" to recruit girls.

UNITED STATES - The name "Boy Scouts" will be no more: the organization announced a huge change this morning. She wanted to take some of the fear and anxiety out of being the "new kid" at Lakeview High School. That's OK. They also have different strengths which the scouts play into.

"We've always had the word "girls" in Girl Scouts, because it's indicative of where our focus is", she said.

"It's not just for boys, but girls can do it too", said Kaitryn Neely.

Among the initiatives is creation of numerous new badges that girls can earn, focusing on outdoor activities and on science, engineering, technology and math. The Boy Scouts' youth participation is about 2.3 million, down from 2.6 million in 2013, and more than 4 million in peak years. And both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts have seen membership shrink.
