Battlefield 5 Might Feature a Battle Royale Mode

For those unaware, such games involve 100 players arriving on the battlefield and fighting to take each other out, as the map's size keeps on shrinking.

The report states that the team are trying to understand how a battle royale game would work within the confines of Battlefield's regular mechanics, but this doesn't necessarily mean that Battlefield V will have this mode.

The upcoming "Battlefield V" game being developed by EA Dice could have a "battle royale" style game mode that's similar to the massively popular "Fortnite" and "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" games, according to VentureBeat, which spoke with sources close to the matter.

As of right now, nothing has been decided and with DICE currently testing out the mode to see if it can get it into action, it is entirely possible it may never see the light of day. Existing battle royale shooters have tens of millions of players, and Fortnite has even reached the nexus where gaming meets wider pop-culture icons like the rapper Drake, who is a huge fan of Epic Games free-to-play battler.

BMW M2 Competition revealed
The M2 Competition replaces the standard M2 instead of being introduced as a high-performance variant of the baby M Coupe. The engine is a new version of the twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six, with plenty in common with the unit in the M3/M4 .

It appears the Battlefield franchise may not be the only well-established FPS series to potentially feature a battle royale mode.

EA Dice is expected to release "Battlefield V" some time this year, and it's still unclear which conflict "Battlefield V" will be based on. Grubb reached out to EA for any comments on this report but they declined.

It is unlikely that Battlefield's Battle Royale mode will bring innovation to the genre as rumors indicate the studio is investigating bringing a near identical copy to the game.
