Armenian police hauls off 106 protesters

More than 20 people were arrested in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, as protesters attempted to block a government building on April 19.

The police formed a human shield close to the government building, moving forward step by step to clear the area, detaining some protesters at the same time.

The leader of the oppositional Yelk parliamentary bloc Nikol Pashinyan announced April 17 the start of the "velvet" revolution in Armenia.

Sarksyan's appointment has drawn criticism from political opponents, who accuse him of engineering a power grab.

But the number of demonstrators dwindled on Wednesday, compared with Tuesday's rally of some 40,000 - the largest Armenia has seen in years.

"The protests that have been taking place in Armenia in recent days are an indication of public demand for implementing systemic changes and profound reforms", the ARF statement says.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Houston Rockets, 4-15
All of these questions concern the Rockets , because as every Houston fan knows, anything bad that can happen most likely will. It may still be a 5-game series if they play like they did against Denver with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute out for the series.

Controversial constitutional amendments approved in 2015 have transferred governing powers from the presidency to the premier.

Sargisyan was president for a decade, and stepped down last week because of a term limit.

Several hundred protesters then marched through Yerevan's suburban districts, briefly blocking road traffic and chanting anti-government slogans.

The protests began also in Gyumri.

On Monday police used stun grenades against protesters who tried to break through a barbed wire cordon to get to the parliament building. Had the people supported unlawful actions, millions would have taken to the streets. The two men are not related.
