Black Ops 4 reportedly won't have a single-player campaign

Black Ops 4 reportedly won't have a single-player campaign

While campaigns have never been the actual focus of Call of Duty games for many players, this is an entirely new thing. Kotaku also did a little digging on the subject and corroborated Polygon's story regarding the single player campaign as well as the Battle Royale rumor.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 releases on October 12, 2018.

Plante also cited an anonymous source who noted that development studio Treyarch, which is making this year's title, wouldn't be able to complete the single-player campaign before the game's release date.

Philadelphia Eagles' Daryl Worley arrested, report says; team releases statement
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Worley, who's in his first season with the Eagles , was arrested at 6 a.m. Officers responded to Broad and Pattison Sunday morning, where they found Worley asleep in his vehicle on the highway.

According to the site's alleged report, Black Ops 4 is nearing its release date and the single-player campaign was nowhere near completion. Every Call of Duty game since Call of Duty's start in 2003 has had a story line. According to the report, the resources would be shifted to multiplayer and zombies content. In fact, Treyarch believes Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's cooperative modes would be a decent replacement.

Following Polygon's report, website Charlie Intel leaked additional information, claiming that Black Ops 4 will feature a battle royale game akin to Fortnite and PUBG. One thing that does make us raise our brow at this report, and the only reason we are reporting it despite it clashing with our own, is that when Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was first announced, there was a large emphasis on "forget what you know".

When contacted for comment, Activision said: "We don't comment on rumour and speculation".
