It's Tax Day. Are you Prepared?

The State Department of Taxation and Finance is extending the hours by three additional hours through April 17, which is the tax filing deadline.

This week is also "Xfinity Watchathon Week" where Comcast is offering over 50 networks to view for free from today until April 21 including HBO, Showtime, Netflix and others for those with basic cable. Several restaurants and businesses stand ready to make your day a little less dour with all sorts of freebies and discounts.

Office Depot and Staples are providing free shredding services so you can get rid of old tax documents. The offer is available from Saturday through April 21. That has been extended to 7:30 p.m.

Boston Market is promoting a $10.40 tax day meal that includes a half chicken with two sides, cornbread and a drink. Both offers good on April 17 only and do not require a coupon.

And much to Swifties' surprise and delight, the new songs prove Old Taylor is still very much alive and kickin'. Earth, Wind & Fire's classic song " September " is an upbeat anthem and a summer mainstay at black cookouts.

Chuck E Cheese is offering a deal on their pizzas - buy one large pizza and get the next large pizza free between April 17-19.

Schlotzsky's: Will offer a free small "The Original" sandwich on Tuesday with the purchase of a medium fountain drink and chips.

Our country's national parks: Free admission - OK, this isn't really for Tax Day, but starting April 21, you can get in free of charge to celebrate National Park Week. Use a coupon for a free Kickin' Shrimp appetizer.

See, Tax Day isn't so bad after all.
