Philadelphia Eagles' Daryl Worley arrested, report says; team releases statement

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Worley, who's in his first season with the Eagles, was arrested at 6 a.m. E.T. this morning.

The Eagles confirmed his arrest, saying in a statement that they were "gathering more information".

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley may be in some trouble with the league, and the law.

A gun was also recovered at the scene of the incident.

The incident took place near the Eagles' team facility.

One of those three guys we can use in that position. "On home court, we're supposed to win, and that's our mindset", he said. This season officially started at the year-end press conference after the second-round sweep to the Cleveland Cavaliers .

Rapoport reports that Worley, who played collegiately at West Virginia, had a taser administrated on him by police after he became combative.

Set to enter his third National Football League season, Worley was acquired from the Carolina Panthers this offseason for veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith.

Officers responded to Broad and Pattison Sunday morning, where they found Worley asleep in his vehicle on the highway.

Worley, 23, was a third-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2016. Even better, Worley was returning home to Philly, where his parents still live in their same North Philadelphia neighborhood where he grew up.
