Nick Saban Reveals Who He Called From Inside The White House

According to Alabama's student newspaper, Saban warned his players to not follow in the footsteps of some professional teams - most notably the 2017 National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors - by skipping the traditional White House visit.

At the White House, Saban reflected on a season that included the ultimate high of the national title, but also a dramatic low when the Crimson Tide lost the Iron Bowl - and SEC West title - to Auburn during the final week of the regular season. Harris met with the media Monday afternoon and was asked about the planned trip by Saban's program.

"As a team we chose to go", running back Damien Harris said. "It's something that comes with being a national champion, so we're really thankful for the opportunity".

The president attended the championship game in Atlanta, in which Alabama staged a second-half comeback to defeat Georgia 26-23 in overtime.

"Coach Saban addressed it and just said, 'Hey, we're doing this regardless of your political thoughts, '" offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher said. "This group of young men will also learn a lot of lessons that will help them be more successful in life because of the experiences they had together this year as a team".

Guardiola: City need to perform the 'perfect game'
Pep Guardiola's side have impressed, delighted and now frustrated their fans with performances over the season. I am so delighted to lose the way we lose against United.

With Alabama's 2017 celebration now behind everyone, Saban and his staff will get to work on preparing the team to defend its title and earn another trip to Washington, D.C., next year. Outside linebacker Terrell Lewis said he will have to miss the celebration in order to attend his grandmother's funeral. "The older guys have been there, but we're looking forward to going back again".

Nick Saban tells me he called recruits from the White House.
