Bollywood star Salman Khan found guilty in blackbuck poaching case

An Indian court has found Bollywood superstar Salman Khan guilty of poaching rare antelope back in 1998. He can appeal against the verdict.

Khan was also accused of two other cases of killing two blackbucks and an Indian gazelle, also known as chikara also in the state of Rajasthan.

The 52-year-old has released blockbuster movies including, Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the Ek Tha Tiger and its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai.

As the actor's bail plea will be heard by the Sessions Court at 10:30am on Friday morning, arrangements have been made to house the Dabangg actor in the Jodhpur jail, which houses several other high-profile convicts as well.

An arrest warrant has already been prepared and the actor has been sent to the Jodhpur Central Jail.

Meanwhile, the actor who pleaded not guilty to the charge can still appeal the case. Khan's lawyers said he was carrying an air gun, which can not be used for hunting an antelope.

Public prosecutors alleged that Khan, 52, and four other actors in the vehicle with him fled the scene when they were spotted, leaving the animals' carcasses behind.
