Michael Porter Jr. declares for Draft

After going through pregame shootaround but not donning his uniform for several games, he finally returned to the court on March 7 for Missouri's first game of the SEC Tournament, a 62-60 loss to Georgia.

Missouri's star freshman, who played in only a handful of games for the Tigers this season, has elected to forego the remainder of his collegiate eligibility. While that might not be the case after his injury-plagued season, it'd be shocking if he fell out of the top 10.

Porter was a McDonald's All-American in high school after averaging 36.2 points and 13.6 rebounds per game his senior year. He shot just 5 0f 17 from the field, including 2-6 on 3-pointers and did not attempt a free throw. Porter played in the Tigers' three exhibition games but shortly before tipoff against the Cyclones he told coach Cuonzo Martin he couldn't play because of the pain. He did do a much better job getting to the foul line, shooting 7 for 9 on free throws on the way to 16 points. The Tigers have been heavily pursuing the state's No. 1 player, point guard Courtney Ramey, for about a month, but even if they land Ramey, the team will have at least one more open spot to fill.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the demands from US officials, saying they came in a letter sent to Beijing last week. USA officials said they're determined to press China to lower tariffs on cars and open up its financial services sector.

Late in the game Porter was visibly gassed and committed a bad turnover that was the sheer result of exhaustion.
