Iran Demands European Steadiness to Trump's Bribes

The E3, Iran and advocates of the nuclear deal in the US saw Tillerson's firing as a harbinger of Trump's ultimate withdrawal.

Speaking on CBS's Face the Nation, Bob Corker of Tennessee said Trump and European leaders remain far apart in negotiations, prompted last January when the president gave a May 12 deadline for Britain, France and Germany to come up with "fixes" to the accord.

Iran watchers, analysts, administration officials and diplomats say they're fairly sure they know how "it is going to go". I wanted to either break it or do something.

A canceled deal would thrill critics in Washington and the Middle East, but it would dismay U.S. military leaders who say the agreement is in USA national security interests, and roil relations with Europe.

A consortium of Russian and Iranian companies signed an agreement with Tehran to develop two oilfields located on the country's border with Iraq, according to emerging reports-Iran's second deal since the nuclear pact.

Trump and other White House officials pointed to rifts over a host of issues - including Tillerson's approach to the North Korea nuclear crisis - as the rationale for his dismissal but appeared to single out his disagreement with the president over the Iran nuclear accord as the main factor in the decision.

Iran agreed to curbs on its nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of a number of sanctions as part of the deal.

No. 1 Nova tramples Radford upset plan
It was three of Jone's team-leading 13 points, while Radford's leading scorer on the year Ed Polite Jr. chipped in with 11. The players believe in it, so they don't gripe about playing supporting roles before it's their time for the star turn.

"We will therefore be circulating in the coming days a list of persons and entities that we believe should be targeted in view of their publicly demonstrated roles", the document said, referring to Iranian ballistic missile tests and Tehran's role in backing Syria's government in the seven-year-old civil war.

In the U.S., Iran deal supporters braced for what they see as the inevitable. Since the 2015 nuclear deal that reintroduced Iran to global oil markets, this is only the second worldwide development deal that has reached fruition. "With [Trump's intended replacement for Tillerson] Mike Pompeo, we have a very similar thought process".

Trump is also reported to be close to replacing the national security adviser, HR McMaster, another defender of the deal, with the former Bush UN ambassador John Bolton, a hawk who favours pre-emptive military action. If the USA begins threatening fines and other punishments for sanctions violations, countries around the world are likely to curtail commerce with Iran.

The new sanctions proposed are EU-wide sanctions that would target Iran for conducting missile tests, something President Trump has complained about. The deal's fatal flaw was that it did nothing to stop Iran's unsafe destabilization of the Middle East and its ever-growing arsenal of missiles that threaten Israel.

European officials are in a tricky position as the next Joint Commission on the deal nears on Friday.

Corker believes that Trump's major concerns with the deal are unrelated to their nuclear program and revolve around the expansion of their missile program as well as their sponsoring of terrorism and meddling in Syria and Yemen.
