Police recover body of third militant

Intermittent firing is on in Balhama as security forces have cordoned off a village, where at least two militants are hiding after attacking BJP leader Mohammad Anwar Khan and his guards, the police said. Till now, the police have recovered two bodies of militants and are conducting investigations in order to ascertain their identities.

The officer identified the slain militant as Abu Hamas, a top commander from Pakistan.

"It took us time to sanitize the encounter site due to apprehensions of the presence of explosive material amid protests going on in the area", SSP said.

Bodies of two terrorists were recovered from the site of a gunfight between security forces and militants in Khonmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar, said Jammu and Kashmir Police.
