Brighton grad Kristen Wiig to play 'Cheetah' in Wonder Woman 2

Recent rumors had suggested that Kristen Wiig was the frontrunner to portray Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2, and now Patty Jenkins has officially confirmed her for the role.

With "Wonder Woman" grossing over $800 million worldwide, both Gadot and Jenkins, who each only had a one-movie deal, had the upper hand in negotiations for the next installment of the story of the Amazonian princess. To keep up the anticipation, director Patty Jenkins gave the audience an exciting bit of news.

What you need to know about the return of 'American Idol'
The new Idol judges include singers Katy Perry , Luke Bryan , and Lionel Ritchie, with Seacrest reprising his former role as host. ABC hasn't officially said the show is canceled, but it also doesn't have any current casting notices on the network website.

The 44-year-old actress and comedian will play villain Cheetah, who possesses superhuman strength and agility. Cant wait to finally work with one of my favorites. It is true! We are incredibly fortunate to welcome the talented and the sensational Kristen Wiig in our family Wonder Woman. But believe us, there is reason to be even more excited than fans were the first time around. "This is going to be WONDERful!".

Wonder Woman, which took place during World War II, is now available on Blu-ray and DVD, and via streaming platforms, following its June 2017 theatrical release. Diana, on the other hand, sees Cheetah who is lost and needs to be saved. We wonder, if Part 2 will also give us a glimpse into Cheetah's backstory. Her lead role in Bridesmaids got her a lot of attention. Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are reuniting for this already anticipated sequel.
