Anthony Davis plays through injury, drops 41 in win against Clippers

He came back and proved a one-man wrecking crew against the Los Angeles Clippers. Prior to tonight's game, Davis was averaging 37.3 points, 14.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 2.8 blocks during the win streak.

He tied his career high with four three-pointers and had 13 rebounds.

This is most definitely good news for the MVP candidate and his team. If we're going to do that, we've got to play against ourselves and not the other team.

He left the game after banging bodies with DeAndre Jordan going for a rebound. Davis immediately grabbed his left rib area and made his way to the locker room, where he appeared to be in a lot of discomfort.

Davis suffered the injury after landing awkwardly on Kosta Koufos' ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's contest.

Aggies fall to Alabama 71-70 on buzzer-beater after mounting comeback
Starks capped a late rally by drilling a deep three-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining to provide the Aggies a 70-69 lead. Four players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs, and Lamar Peters was excellent in scoring 24 points.

Following the collision with Jordan, Davis struggled his way up the court after the Pelicans regained possession, prompting a timeout from head coach Alvin Gentry. "That's a really kind of a tough injury". It feels like somebody is sticking an ice pick in your side when you are trying to breath with those bruised ribs and stuff like that. The Pels also own a seven-game road winning streak. Harris added 11 rebounds and Williams had 11 assists. "We didn't play with the right spirit, and it happens, but I don't know why it happened".

The Pelicans made 58 percent of their field goals in the first half and led by as much 20 points against a listless Kings squad that lost starting point guard De'Aaron Fox in the first quarter to lower back stiffness.

"I always want to take the big shot", Davis said. A guy in his thirties, I think it is a shame that he didn't make the All-Star team.

Currently, the Pelicans are in the fourth seed in the Western Conference playoffs, two games in the win column behind the three-seeded Trail Blazers and one game in the loss column behind the fifth-seeded Spurs.

Davis drained a 12-foot turnaround jumper with 30.5 seconds left to give New Orleans a 115-113 lead. Though things got a bit dicey in the final minutes, Nikola Mirotic and Jrue Holiday pulled the Pelicans through the late game fire.
