Aggies fall to Alabama 71-70 on buzzer-beater after mounting comeback

Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl and Alabama strength and conditioning coach Lou DeNeen got in a verbal altercation following Friday afternoon's game in the SEC tournament.

Alabama had their best run in the 2nd Half with 13:03 on the clock.

Prior to that rough stretch of games, Murray was averaging 11.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and being one of Auburn's most effective offensive weapons. Texas A&M led by seven points early in the first half, but Alabama surged ahead to take a 35-28 halftime lead - only to need Sexton's last-second shot to hold on for the win.

T.J. Starks capped a late rally by drilling a deep three-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining to provide the Aggies a 70-69 lead. The SEC's regular-season champion was handling rival Alabama after 20 minutes in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals Friday, up 10 but it felt like more. Alabama won the game 81-63 and sent Auburn home from the tourney with an early exit.

But the good news for Alabama is it has Sexton, who is capable of doing some incredible stuff on the floor.

"Well, the main thing was we wanted to get him in space", Alabama coach Avery Johnson said.

Part of Murray's struggles down the stretch have been due to the trouble presented by the size of numerous teams on Auburn's schedule the past month: Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Arkansas.

UCI President Lappartient wants investigation into Team Sky
If I were running a business and wanted to keep its image positive, I would have left Team Sky a long time ago. Sky said Wednesday that they are "happy to co-operate with any investigation" by thee UCI .

The freshman guard made a scintillating play and hard scoop shot to give his team life in its pursuit of an NCAA Tournament berth.

"We just didn't have it in the second half", Pearl said.

I think we'll see their mindset be somewhere in the middle, and given how focused Auburn should be, I'll go with the Tigers to advance.

And while we know what we'll be getting from the guards, it's the frontcourt that should decide the game.

Mississippi State is certainly athletic enough to cause Tennessee some trouble, but the Bulldogs will have to commit on the defensive end of the floor for that to happen. Four players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs, and Lamar Peters was excellent in scoring 24 points. Quinndary Weatherspoon and his brother, Nick, each finished with 15 points for the Bulldogs.

No. 2 Tennessee vs.

Alabama had the biggest lead in the game with an advantage of 12 at one point.
