When asked how it would be possible that forming a Government in Nagaland without NPF when they (NPF) were part of the BJP-led Government in Manipur, Sarma said, "Manipur NPF is a different registered party".

"(The) BJP submitted (the) letter of support from 12 MLAs to (the) governor supporting NDPP leader Neiphiu Rio as chief ministerial candidate of Nagaland", Union minister JP Nadda, who is also the BJP's central observer for Nagaland, said.

In opposition is Zeliang's Naga People's Front, which emerged as the single-largest party in these elections with 27 seats.

The NDPP contested 40 seats and secured second position with 18. "It is much below our expectation", the three-time chief minister said while replying to a query by reporters.

Chief Minister T R Zeliang of the NPF is leading from Peren constituency. The BJP too managed to strengthen its profile by absorbing a number of independents and Congress leaders.

In a letter addressed to Neiphiu Rio, Governor stated that he has received letters of support in favour of Rio from legislators of BJP, JD (U) and an Independent MLA besides NDPP legislatures.

UCI President Lappartient wants investigation into Team Sky
If I were running a business and wanted to keep its image positive, I would have left Team Sky a long time ago. Sky said Wednesday that they are "happy to co-operate with any investigation" by thee UCI .

"We went to the people with a pre-poll alliance with NDPP", he said. He said there was no question of the BJP going back to the NPF. "It is good for the Northeast, good for India", he said.

However, the BJP refused to junk the pact with the NDPP. "Even though Rio met the governor, as of now, the hung assembly situation continues". The NPF has also threatened to pull out of the Manipur government if the interest of the party is ignored in Nagaland.

Before the voting was to take place in Nagaland, NPF had issued a direct threat to the BJP that it would withdraw support to that government after the Nagaland elections.

"We have decided not to have any truck with the NPF any more and have advised Mr. Zeliang to resign because Mr. Rio is a widely accepted leader".

The BJP leaders informed the governor that Y Patton had been elected the BJP Legislature Party leader in the Assembly.

The Governor also informed that the solution to the Naga political problem is expected within six months next.
