Forecast: Quieter weather likely into the weekend

After an intense night of heavy snow and strong wind, the storm has moved out and things are slowly getting better.

Monday night: A 100 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight, low around 28. If this pattern holds, it has the potential to bring at least one, and possibly several storm systems, through Southern California beginning as early as this weekend.

It was a 1-2 punch at the end of last week with high winds and heavy precipitation both rain and snow as a power Nor'easter pummeled the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Breezy, with a northeast wind 11 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service has also issued a coastal flood advisory from 2 6 a.m. Thursday.

Thursday: Chance of snow showers, mainly before 1 p.m. Wind gusts could reach 25 miles per hour.
