Lawyer Says Stormy Daniels Had Sexual Relationship With Trump

Adult film star Stephanie Clifford, who says she had an affair with Donald Trump before he was elected, is suing the president.

"I think she may have to, and she's prepared to do that", lawyer Michael Avenatti said on NBC News' "Today".

Daniels' alleged intimate relationship with Trump took place in 2006 and 2007 at locations such as the Beverly Hills Hotel and Lake Tahoe.

Daniels has argued that the NDA is null and void because Trump never signed it.

Daniels is referred to as Peggy Peterson in the paperwork, while Trump is referred to as David Dennison.

For the agreement to work Stormy's lawyers claim both parties needed to sign the agreement - and the initials "DD" - or "Dennis Dennison" - fail to appear on the agreement.

The lawsuit filed on Tuesday also made public for the first time the onerous terms of the full two-part contract, which Ms Clifford signed on October 28, 2016 - days before the presidential election.

She also denied an affair with Trump in a statement, saying it "never happened," and in an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live".

Daniels filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles, claiming the deal was "invalid" as Trump personally did not sign the document.

Cohen didn't immediately respond to an email sent to the Trump Organization after regular business hours seeking comment on the lawsuit. The actress said a sexual relationship shortly after Trump's wife Melania gave birth to their son. On Oct. 7, 2016, one month before the presidential election, The Washington Post published the now-famous "Access Hollywood" tape, in which candidate Trump bragged about grabbing women "by the pussy". "I$3 t strains credulity to conclude that Mr. Cohen is acting on his own accord and without the express approval and knowledge of his client Mr. Trump". "[.] I do know the answer, and I'm not at liberty to disclose it this morning".

In January, the Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen paid Clifford $130,000 a month before the 2016 election to keep her from speaking about her affair allegations.

The case is Clifford v. Trump, BC696568, Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The White House and Trump have previously denied reports that he and Daniels had an affair in 2006. "We believe that that was so that he could later claim deniability, and therefore, from a legal perspective, we believe she's free to talk", Avenatti said.

Cohen has acknowledged the payment, but has not publicly said what the payment was for. Mr Cohen later confirmed having made the payment, but said it came from his personal funds without the direction of Mr Trump.

And she says he continues to try to intimidate her into silence to protect Trump.
