Former NFL player detained for Instagram post

Former NFL player detained for Instagram post

It was not immediately clear whether Martin posted the photo himself and he was not under arrest Friday afternoon. "So, out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to close school today", the email read, reports the Los Angeles Times. The picture contained social media handles for former Miami Dolphins teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, and two former Harvard-Westlake School classmates, with the message "When you're a bully victim & a coward your options are suicide, or revenge".

At this time, it's unclear if Martin is receiving medical treatment. "You let your demons go", Martin shared upon retiring, "knowing that, perhaps, sharing your story can help some other chubby, goofy, socially-isolated, sensitive kid getting bullied in America who feels like no one in the world cares about them". "The investigation is continuing, but rest assured we believe there is no threat to any school in the LA area". Frank Albarran of the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division said around noon. Commuters were able to return home but most bus services continued on their routes to the school. "I don't know what his thoughts are and I don't really care, honestly".

Former Stanford and 49ers offensive lineman Jonathan Martin was detained by police earlier Friday after a recent social media post of his displayed a rifle, ammunition and names of former teammates in the NFL. The scandal eventually resulted in Incognito being suspended for eight games by the National Football League for his alleged involvement in the harassment of Martin. Their report presented evidence of derogatory language that included racist, sexually explicit and homophobic slurs.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Tony Im told Perez that a person believed to be Martin was still in detainment as of Friday night: "The individual believed to be responsible for the social media post is being detained, however he is not in police custody".

Coalition of Governors combats gun violence
Phil Murphy said the shooting accelerated their idea to form the coalition, which has been in the works for about a year. Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy agreed with Cuomo that the states can't wait for the federal government to act.

Martin was subject to bullying in the Dolphins locker room during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

The bullying and harassment allegations sent shockwaves around the country and within the Harvard-Westlake community.

Last evening, we learned of an Internet post that mentions Harvard-Westlake by name. He also tagged James Dunleavy, who attended Harvard-Westlake and was a walk-on basketball player at USC. Martin is black and Incognito is white.
