Law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation determined this threat to be associated with a school in Springfield, Ohio. Regardless, Salina USD 305 takes all threats seriously and continues working with law enforcement.

"Naturally this led many concerned parents and school officials to question if "SHS" was Salinas High School or possibly Seaside High School", the police Facebook post said.

Hanlin said she notified Melinda Young, city schools superintendent, about the unsubstantiated threat.

Some in Northeast Ohio interpreted "SHS" as Strongsville High School or Streetsboro High School. Additionally, police departments throughout the country are investigating this threat.
