Curling: Canada tumble into 0-3 hole with loss to Denmark

Men's hockey, Canada vs. Korea, 7:10 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday After suffering a shootout loss to the Czech Repbulic, Canada (1-1) needs a win over South Korea as well as some favourable results elsewhere if it's to secure a bye into the quarter-finals.

The Canadians' 11-3 victory over the USA followed three straight losses at the Pyeongchang Games, a performance that few had anticipated from a team that was heavily favored to win the gold. However, the Canadian women, led by skip Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario are struggling. It marked the male team's first victory of the 2018 Winter Games. Canada, which trailed at that point, scored four points to take a 6-4 lead.

"I think that was a rash move to take it off", CBC commentator and Olympic gold medallist Joan McCusker said during the broadcast.

"But that's OK, we'd rather lose now than later in the week so all good".

"You can feel that (Canada is) not they're usual 'them, ' " Dupont said.

Cruz's court-appointed lawyer said her client had expressed remorse for his crimes. "He's sad, he's mournful, he's remorseful". The suspect was armed with an AR-15-style semiautomatic assault rifle and numerous ammunition cartridges.

"It's hard to come back on a team like Homan, because they're a hitting team", she said. It's been one of the most popular sports in these games and is continuously growing.

With Canada trailing, a Danish player lightly touched a stone that was in motion - a flub known as a "burned rock". In the fourth end and with the hammer, Homan needed her draw stone to sit anywhere in the inner-ring of the house to score a single. Homan chose to have it removed, rather than leave it, or to place it where it would have otherwise stopped - as is common etiquette in competitive curling.

Denmark ended up winning the game in overtime, and Homan later defended her decision to remove the rock, saying she was just following the rules.

After a disappointing performance from Team USA in the first-ever mixed doubles curling event, the men's team is trying to make up for it.
