Chinese woman refuses to part with handbag, goes through X-ray machine

Airport or station security points can be absolutely rammed, and when you finally get to the metal detector, you feel the pressure of a thousand eyes watching as you de-metal yourself quicker than an Aldi checkout.

A Chinese woman has made worldwide headlines after climbing into an x-ray machine at a train station in Dongguan, in the Guangdong Province. Well, a Chinese woman recently went to an extent of climbing into a security scanner at a train station because she allegedly didn't want to leave her handbag. I can see them thinking.

She then checks her suitcase and handbag before leaving the checkpoint.

It's still not known why the woman climbed into the X-ray machine.

And while it is unclear what she was carrying in her handbag it is likely to have been wads of cash traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year.

German Felix Loch, who has won three consecutive gold medals, was in first in the last run but hit the wall and ended up fifth. The highest the US men had ever placed in the Olympics was fourth in 2002 (Adam Heidt) and 2006 (Tony Benshoof).

The powerful X-rays used in the machines are harmful to health.

"Do not [put] yourself into the security inspection machine", passengers were told.

Despite the best efforts of the machine's operators to deter the woman, she travels the full length of the conveyor and emerges, along with assorted items of baggage, at the far end.

As you can see by the video above, security didn't even stop the woman as they were probably too shocked at what was unfolding.

An extraordinary photo shows the woman on all fours on a conveyor belt inside the X-ray machine as she follows her bag as it goes through a security scanner at China's Dongguan Railway Station.
