Ohio State storms back to upset Purdue

Purdue: A win would allow the Boilers to stay even in the loss column with Ohio State in their pursuit of a second consecutive Big Ten crown. The sixth-place Lions (17-9, 7-6) are shooting for their first.500 or better conference record since they went 9-9 in 2010-11. It hasn't been the best though. His rebounding and shot-blocking numbers have come down, but that's a by-product of playing on a team with the biggest front line in the sport this year instead of playing as a four.

The return matchup is Saturday afternoon at 5:07 (Big Ten Network) at OSU's Value City Arena.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo ran his hands through his hair as he paced the sidelines at Mackey Arena past year, struggling to find an answer to one of the Big Ten's toughest questions. The Buckeyes certainly deserve their first-place holding in the Big Ten. Had he played, they wouldn't have won 17 games, they probably would have won 24 games. The Buckeyes road to the finish is no easy one, as they will have to travel to both Penn State and MI next week. "That's what I always say".

Miles Bridges has to be the man.

Both teams here have solid defenses, the total looks a bit high for a game that should have a slower pace. Ohio State's largest lead was 29. Nick Ward has to step up for the Spartans to win. He is only hitting 28 percent of his shots from behind the arc this season.

Guard Musa Jallow led the reserves with 10 points and center Micah Potter added 5. Despite the 19-game winning streak, Purdue has been on the mat before this season. Also, they have a first-year head coach who has done a tremendous job. Purdue is averaging 83.2 points per game this season while allowing 64.2 per contest. He plays bigger as he averages 7.8 boards per game and has 16 blocks for the season. Keep your eye on freshman guard Lonnie Walker IV, who is averaging 11.5 points per night. Dakota Mathias has played outstanding for the Boilermakers as they were on a quest to find a point this season. Izzo believes the Purdue team the Spartans beat Saturday is a Final Four-caliber group. Matt McQuaid hit three threes and scored more points than Langford.

GOP leaders say they're submitting congressional map
Chief Justice Thomas Saylor and Justice Sallie Mundy - the only Republicans - filed separate dissents. Justice Debra McCloskey Todd wrote the 139-page majority opinion .

Carsen Edwards #3 of the Purdue Boilermakers.

It isn't hard to understand why Holtmann wasn't sure how that final possession would play out.

Jackson on the other hand will be with Vincent Edwards and I foresee a miss match happening. He's going to have to use that to his advantage. Purdue is a team that is peaking at the right time. The Spartans bench is just as deep as any in the country. Fran McCaffery isn't necessarily one of them. Ohio State looked shaky at times against a deep and risky Purdue team.

Three other Ohio State players - JaeSean Tate (12.7), C.J. Jackson (12.5) and Kaleb Wesson (10.8) - are scoring in double figures.

Purdue-Michigan State basketball game time, TV channel, watch online live stream (February, 10, 2018). "He came back for these kinds of games". Maybe more important, he hustled around screens and played tireless defense against one of the country's most unsafe shooting teams.

Per usual the Spartans' collective toughness is a defining characteristic, especially so now that post depth has gone from fatal flaw last season to consistent luxury now. I'm still waiting for this MSU team to play its best basketball. They have a nice balance of upper and underclassmen. That's not exactly great timing for a coaching replacement. Michigan State and Purdue will need help to catch them.
