House passes budget bill to reopen government after brief shutdown

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would "love" to see another government shutdown even though Senate leaders said they were close to an agreement on a spending bill to boost funding for defense and domestic programs.

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the agreement was "a genuine breakthrough" and addressed other Democratic priorities although Senate Democrats have shelved their strategy to use the budget fight to obtain immigration concessions and extend protections for the so-called Dreamers.

The government will shut down if congress fails to pass another spending bill on Friday. Paul (R-KY) said. That effort could delay a Senate vote until 1 a.m. Friday, past the deadline for keeping the government open.

President Trump has been urging Republicans and Democrats to support the Senate bill, tweeting that lawmakers must "must support our troops and support this bill".

Passage of the plan would ease the brinkmanship over spending that roils Washington so regularly that financial markets barely flinch anymore at the threat of a government shutdown.

The Senate agreement also contains nearly $90 billion in overdue disaster aid for hurricane-slammed Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. His fellow Republicans control both chambers of Congress.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says she will vote against it.

VLC 3.0 for Android adds Chromecast support
Last month, possibly the most-anticipated feature for VLC finally made it into the Android version - support for Chromecast . To remind you, OnePlus Switch is primarily used at the time of migrating to a new OnePlus smartphone.

"Speaker Ryan has already repeatedly stated we intend to do a DACA and immigration reform bill - one that the president supports", said spokeswoman AshLee Strong, referring to the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill said "it looked like he was clueless" while Republican Senator John Thune called the shutdown "a colossal waste of time".

Democrats are eager to increase domestic spending along with military spending, and Mr. Schumer reiterated that view on Tuesday morning.

"'I talked to him this afternoon", he said. "Vote against the budget".

House Democrats and conservative diehards don't have the power to block a stopgap spending bill in the House unless they join forces, but of course they can not agree on a bill that would have a prayer in the Senate.

The two-year spending pact will let lawmakers spend $300 billion more than current law allows. "And I hope that we will end up passing something", McConnell said.

Democrats cancelled a retreat due to urgent nature of the bill, which does not contain any amendment to United States immigration law, the major issue that ultimately led to a shutdown last month, as a result of lawmakers failing to reach an agreement. "I want people to feel uncomfortable", Paul said on the Senate floor Thursday night before the shutdown began. "On the net, this is a very good solution".
