Cavaliers acquire Rodney Hood, George Hill in three-team deal

Rose was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Jazz on Thursday in a three-team with the Sacramento Kings that sent fellow point guard George Hill and swingman Rodney Hood to Northeast Ohio. The deal will see Utah's Joe Johnson head to the Kings, while Cleveland's Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder go to the Jazz.

The NBA trade deadline is at 1:00 p.m. mountain time. The young wing player has been averaging a career-high 16.8 points on almost 39 percent shooting from long distance. Sports indicates that the Jazz plan on parting ways with Rose after his trade to Utah becomes official.

Hood, Hill, and Johnson were amongst some of the biggest names being thrown out in trade talks leading up to the deadline.

According to several reports, the Jazz will waive the 29-year old former MVP, allowing him to pursue another opportunity with a playoff team. That deal ultimately sent Utah wings Rodney Hood and Joe Johnson out of Salt Lake City. The 6-8 guard appeared in 227 career games (167 starts) as a Jazzman, owning averages of 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 27.7 minutes per game.

To recap the Cavaliers' moves so far Thursday. Hill has averaged 10.3 points per game for the Sacramento Kings.

In July, Hill signed a three-year, $57 million deal with Sacramento that pays him $20 million this season, $19 million next year and $18 million in 2020. In 16 appearances, he is shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 25 percent from behind the arc.

Andrew Harrison scored a season-best 23 points to lead Memphis, which has lost five straight games and seven of its last eight.
