Palestinian shot dead after stabbing Israeli guard: Israeli army

A young Palestinian man has been martyred during clashes with Israeli forces in occupied West Bank late Tuesday, according to Palestinian Health Ministry.

A medical source named the dead person as Khaled Tayeh, a man in his 20s who had been shot in the chest.

A Palestinian assailant was shot dead on Wednesday morning after stabbing and lightly wounding a security guard at the entrance to Karmei Zur settlement near Bethlehem in the West Bank, an Israeli military spokesman said.

On Tuesday, Israeli troops shot dead Ahmad Nassar Jarrar, the suspected ringleader of a terror cell responsible for the Israeli father of six's murder during a pre-dawn raid in the village of Yamoun, near Jenin.

Japan, which voted against the decision made by President Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel at United Nations general assembly vote reportedly rejected Trump's recognition once more during the bilateral meeting.

Official Palestinian Authority (PA)-owned Wafa news agency reported that Israeli forces raided the Zamaareh family home following the incident, causing clashes to erupt with residents in the area.
