Manchin says Trump order to fire Mueller is 'New York talk'

Though he's since called the report "fake news," a source told CNN that Trump had called for the firing of Mueller last June.

Likewise for Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who said "the independent investigation must continue without interference from the White House or Congress".

A group of Democratic senators and one Republican called for a legislative check on President Donald Trump's ability to fire special counsel Robert Mueller Friday in the wake of reports that Trump considered the move over the summer. Keylin explained that Trump wanted to fire Mueller in June and the bills were drafted in August.

He said if Trump were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who hired Mueller, he'd back legislation to protect the special counsel from getting the axe.

Sources familiar with the matter told CNN that Mueller had provided Trump's lawyers with possible interview topics including Trump allegedly asking Comey to drop an investigation into Flynn and Trump's outreach to leaders of the intelligence community about the Russian Federation investigation. A decision that many of them will have to take now is if the legislation preventing Mueller from being fired by the president - previously sitting around in draft form - now needs to be acted upon. He has continued to use his favorite communication platform, Twitter, to rail against Special Counsel Mueller and his investigative team on a regular basis, with some particularly bombastic claims at times. Russian Federation denies such collusion, and Trump frequently denounces the probe as a "witch hunt". "I have questions about others within the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the DOJ", ticking off a list of issues that have been brought up about the Mueller investigative team, including anti-Trump texts between two former members. "At a minimum, it would require the attorney general (or the deputy attorney general in the event of recusal) to inform the House and Senate Judiciary Committee chairmen and ranking members immediately if (the president) interferes with a special-counsel investigation". "We're not just going to say it's fake news and move on". And now it has become clear that Trump's own White House counsel rebelled at the President's rationale for his actions.

Trump mentions rejoining climate change accord
Trump said that the Paris accord "will undermine economy" and added that it puts the U.S. They are not mutually exclusive.

Trump has consistently denied any collusion between his campaign and the Russian government, and he said last week he is willing to be interviewed by Mueller, although his lawyers quickly interceded to say that the details were still being worked out.

"I am pleased to say I have never received any money from Mr. Wynn, so I have no money to return", she said.

Confused, Todd asked how that's an example of "New York talk" and referenced that he understands it's a reelection year and that he has "to be anti-New York in West Virginia".

Strzok was reassigned from the probe after he was found to have sent anti-Trump text messages.

Strzok, who was romantically involved with Page, was a member of the FBI team investigating Hillary Clinton's email server and, later, a member of Mueller's special counsel operation.
