Sonos may support Apple Music, but the Sonos One uses Amazon's Alexa as its current assistant-of-choice, and that can't control Apple's streaming service by voice. Alternatively, if you're more interested in filling different rooms, you could use the two Sonos One speakers individually. For instance, Apple said HomePod will ship without some of the features originally announced, and that they would be added later this year.

Like the Echo, Apple's HomePod comes with the ability to stream music.

HomePod. A breakthrough speaker.

Following the kickoff of preorders yesterday, Apple today has shared four brand new HomePod ads on YouTube. "It brings advanced audio technologies like beam-forming tweeters, a high-excursion woofer and automatic spatial awareness, together with the entire Apple Music catalog and the latest Siri intelligence, in a simple, lovely design that is so much fun to use", said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

The release of the HomePod smart speaker comes in the wake of a Canalys analyst revealing that in Q4 Apple sold approximately 29 million units of the iPhone X, of which 7 million were in the United States. This all become possible with built-in Siri, Apple's digital assistant. The Sonos One speakers support multi-room audio, stereo pairing, have the Alexa assistant built in, and will support AirPlay 2 and Google Assistant this year.

Trump booed at Davos for criticising 'fake' media
Without mentioning Trump by name, German Chancellor Angela Merkel evoked the build-up to the two world wars. Trump previously announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and to move the U.S.

You can pair two HomePods to create a stereo pair.

You don't feel like talking to Alexa or Google Assistant? It has built-in Siri, six microphones and HomeKit support to control compatible smart home devices. With a price tag of $349, it sure seems expensive, especially compared to the budget-friendly Google Home Mini and Echo Dot.

There's other big deals this week: if you're still looking for a TV to watch the upcoming Super Bowl game, Samsung is still offering deep discounts on 4K and other HD TV models. This means users will be forced to pay a monthly fee for Apple Music if they want to listen to music on the speaker.

One of the key aspects of Amazon's and Google's smart speakers is that they can't add third-party music sources fast enough; it's great to be able to switch from Spotify to SiriusXM to iHeartRadio using nothing but your voice. Apart from music, Siri is also behind Alexa and Google Assistant in terms of functionality. Per research conducted by Canalys the iPhone X beat the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 8 in sales during the period despite the latter two having been released to the market earlier.
