Walcott would boost Everton's attacking threat, insists Big Sam

Everton manager Sam Allardyce confirmed that the Toffees are in negotiations for a permanent move for the England global.

Walcott has found game-time hard to come by this season with most of his appearances coming in domestic cups or the Europa League.

"I think you are all aware of our interest in Theo", said Everton boss Allardyce, who has already strengthened his forward line with the purchase of Beskitas striker Cenk Tosun.

If we can get that all sorted out then that would be a great addition to join us from an attacking point of view. "It is not imminent at the moment but some negotiations are going on".

"I think he needs a new lease of life, to go somewhere else and really put a marker down".

Blues boss Sam Allardyce confirmed that the two Premier League clubs were in negotiations over a deal that would see Walcott move to the north west after a decade of services in north London.

But The Sun report this is not the case although the Belgian's representatives are in contact with the La Liga outfit. Chelsea's next match is a Premier League clash with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Toffees chief is eager to add more goals to his side and is a fan of Walcott.

"I don't get optimistic otherwise I get disappointed".

"Theo went to the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and we are now in 2018 and since he has not been for different reasons, so that is a sensitive subject". "You will never think a player is coming until somebody tells you he has actually signed on the dotted line".

While not agitating to leave, the player is frustrated at a lack of games and is open to joining the Toffees or Saints to reignite his career.

Despite promising Iwobi would be punished, Wenger started the 21 year-old ahead of Walcott for the trip to Chelsea and also preferred Danny Welbeck to him after deciding to relegate Alexis Sanchez to the substitutes' bench.
