Spurs can not force Harry Kane to stay, admits Pochettino

Premier League Tottenham were labouring to break down the visitors before Kane effectively sealed the tie with goals in the 64th and 66th minutes.

Liverpool finally sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £145million this weekend, months after the Brazil playmaker first decided he wanted a switch to Spain.

Kane has been linked with Real Madrid - but Pochettino is adamant he'll remain in north London.

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham striker Heung-Min Son deserves just as much credit as his team-mates after going from strength to strength with the club this season.

"It is a lot of examples that it is so, so tough to keep your best player if the player says he wants to leave".

Stephen Curry has been back for three games, but now Kevin Durant will miss his second straight with a calf strain. He eventually walked off the court under his own power and was escorted to the locker room.

Speaking after Tottenham's 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the FA Cup, Pochettino highlighted the challenge facing every club in the modern game.

"Liverpool is historically one of the best clubs in the world, but when a player like Coutinho wants to leave, it is hard".

"I think Harry is special". If another club pays the type of money they pay - like Barcelona with Liverpool - how do you stop it?

"That is why it is so important how you care for your players - it is why you need to anticipate things".

'I told him he seems like (Francesco) Totti in Italy, only a few players so special can spend their whole careers in one club. But in football nothing is sure. "So it's important that we must achieve everything we want together".
