Sony might be announcing three new phones at CES 2018

The Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra and L2 are expected to be unveiled at the upcoming CES trade fair, but there is a possibility that the announcement maybe pushed back to the next month's Mobile World Congress. As you can see from the images, there won't be any upgrades to these devices in terms of design. The XA2 will have a 7MP selfie-camera, while the XA2 Ultra will get dual 15MP front-facing cameras both of which are 4K capable.

One major change is the fingerprint sensor being placed on the rear of the device.

This is pretty much a first from Sony and we can also add dual cameras to that list. The top and bottom speakers out front are also visible as are the volume controls plus the power button on the right, Sony may have skipped the fingerprint sensor, which was earlier seen on the power button.

Other than the flagship Xperia XZ Premium 2, Sony is also working on a couple of mid-range smartphones; the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra. Their specs have been leaked via GFXBench benchmark tests (XA2, XA2 Ultra), which confirm a move from MediaTek processors to Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chips, putting them firmly in mid-range phone territory.

Meanwhile, the 6.0-inch XA2 Ultra is keeping its full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and the same memory and storage as the XA Ultra - 4GB of RAM and 64GB SSD.

On the camera front, both the smartphones will bear the same rear camera of 21-megapixel with 4K recording.

As for the entry-level Xperia L2, details are scarce at this point. It is said to support Bluetooth 5.0 and will be launching with Android Oreo (8.X).

Currently, more details are known about the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra models. To give you a quick refresher, the Sony Xperia XA2 is going to be the smaller of the two phones with a 5.2-inch full HD screen. The phone might run on an older Android Nougat.
