California mom gives birth to twins in different years

Delano Regional Medical Center officials told CBS affiliate Bakersfield now, that a set of twins were born at the end of 2017 and the start of 2018.

Joaquin Jr. Ontiveros was delivered at 11:58 p.m. on December 31, 2017, weighing 5 pounds, 9 ounces, and his sister, Aitana de Jesus Ontiveros, was born at 12:16 a.m. January 1, 2018 weighing 4 pounds, 10 ounces, Bakersfield Now reported. The second twin, a girl, was born 12:16 a.m. Monday, weighing in at 4 pounds 10 ounces, and about 16 inches.

The Delano's Hospital said Joaquin was the county's last baby of 2017 and Aitana was the first of 2018.

The parents say the babies were about a month early.

But her boy Joaquã was born just before the New Year, and daughter Aitana was born 16 minutes into 2018.

China's stance on North Korea influences his trade policy
The report cites two anonymous sources who say that North Korea is being aided by fuel tankers coming from Russian Federation . Three North Korean ships among the 10 were blacklisted, along with a Panama-registered vessel.

It appears the first baby born in Kern County was in Delano. While the duo will share everything for life including genes, their date as well as year of birth will remain different.

"It was definitely a surprise!"

According to Louise Firth Campbell and Amram Shapiro, co-authors of The Book of Odds, the odds of twins being born in different years are around one in 60,000.

It's rare for twins to be born in different years, with Dr. Seyed Tamijidi, who delivered the twins, saying he'd never before seen it happen in his 35-years of practice.

It was therefore quite a shock when she went into labour on New Year's Eve.
