Meanwhile, India could also lose out on hosting the Asia Cup, which was postponed from June to September 2018 as the Indian government is unsure about hosting Pakistan cricketers in the country.

The Foreign Office said a list containing the names of 457 Indian inmates incarcerated in Pakistan's prisons has been provided to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

As Pakistan announced that it will release 146 Indian fishermen on January 8, New Delhi reminded Islamabad that it had failed to provide consular access to Indian prisoners Mr Jadhav and Hamid Nehal Ansari, a management graduate who was arrested in Pakistan where he went in search of his lover in 2012.

While Pakistan termed its decision to allow Jadhav's family to travel to Pakistan to meet him as humanitarian gesture, India has accused it of violating mutual understandings, asserting that the Indian national appeared coerced and under considerable stress during the tightly- controlled interaction.

WhatsApp to Stop working on these Smart-phones from New Year's Eve

Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj ruled out the possibility of resumption of bilateral cricket series between Pakistan and India, thereby indicating the Indian government's stand on the much-debated issue.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently lift up the protestations about Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) FTP timetable for not including any bi-lateral series with the neighboring nation. He was awarded death sentence by a military court on April 10 this year for reportedly working for India's external intelligence agency, Research and Analytical Wing or RAW, and being involved with espionage and sabotage in Pakistan.

According to the statement, "This step is consistent with the provisions of the Consular Access Agreement between Pakistan and India, signed on 21 May 2008, under which both countries are required to exchange lists of prisoners in each other's custody twice a year, on 1 January and 1 July, respectively".
