Georgia advances to national championship game with Rose Bowl victory

Austin Seibert's 33-yard field goal tied the game at 48 to force the second overtime. All the Bulldogs needed to do was score on the impending possession to advance to the title game for the first time since 1980.

He covered 222 total yards doing it, including touchdown runs of 75, 38 and 27 yards.

Heisman Trophy victor Baker Mayfield was impressive with his arm and legs dealing with flu-like symptoms leading up to the Rose Bowl but in overtime he struggled.

D'Andre Swift blocked Seibert's second field-goal attempt in overtime to set up Michel's game victor. The Sooners responded with an 88-yard scoring drive that ended when Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield connected with Dimitri Flowers for an 11-yard touchdown pass to tie the score at 38.

Oklahoma will take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day 2018. College football added overtime in 1996.

Service is part of India's culture: Modi
Calling them "New India Voters", he exhorted them to cast their votes saying it will prove to be the "bedrock of New India". Such a thing has never happened before in the history of India.

The game was the highest-scoring Rose Bowl ever. The previous closest game of the semifinals was a 42-35 Ohio State win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl during the 2014-15 season.

That still left the Bulldogs down by two touchdowns, but they got one of them back on their first offensive play of the second half, when Nick Chubb bolted 50 yards for a touchdown.

Changes to Georgia's defensive schemes confused Mayfield in the third quarter as he refused to throw into double coverage.

The Sooners dodged a bullet with running back Rodney Anderson, who gained a team-best 960 yards this season, when no charges were filed following a rape accusation. Brown, whose dad played in the National Football League, was a busy man Monday as the Sooners piled up 242 rushing yards in what was thought to be an even matchup with Georgia's 3-4 defense. The Sooners defense allowed 144.2 yards on the ground and gave up 20 or fewer points three times in their last four games. Heisman Trophy victor Baker Mayfield threw 41 touchdown passes en route to 4,340 yards through the air to help the Sooners average 44.9 points per contest, but Georgia - led by linebacker and Butkus Award victor Roquan Smith - has held opponents to 158.3 yards passing per game while giving up just 13.2 points per contest.
