Nintendo Switch 64GB Game Cards Delayed To 2019

Nintendo Switch 64GB Game Cards Delayed To 2019

Nintendo Switch game cards now have a capacity of 32 GB, which is potentially limiting for some titles. Since developers rely on Nintendo to supply the game cards, it's up to Nintendo to fix this issue. As WSJ explains, publishers are of course aware of this and some US-based companies that produce "data-heavy games" may now delay their titles until the 64 GB cards are released.

Nintendo has already informed the developers about the delay in the 64GB Nintendo Switch cartridges.

The current maximum amount the Switch game cards can now hold is 32GB, less than the 50GB Blu-ray discs used in other consoles.

A man died at an Abington apartment complex yesterday in a fire that remains under investigation. Several apartments, however, did receive a large amount of smoke damage, Phoenix fire said.

Nintendo Co. told outside game developers it is delaying delivery of 64-gigabyte game cards for the Switch console until 2019, people familiar with the matter said, meaning gamers may have to wait longer for some data-rich software titles. The reason? Those pesky "technical issues" cropped up again, according to WSJ's sources, and Nintendo wants to ensure that product quality is up to snuff. Video games such as Splatoon 2 have managed to sell 1,292,281 units, Super Mario Odyssey has placed 1,292,281 copies and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, has managed to do the same with 1,045,438 copies.

Users have the option to buy physical game cards or download titles from Nintendo's eShop. Some publishers may even postpone the launch of their games on the Switch in order to have access to the larger cartridges.

They said the notice disappointed some software makers, especially US -based publishers that often produce data-heavy games. That's too small for games such as Doom and Breath of the Wild which also require gigabytes of data be downloaded.
