The deaths "are all contained to the train", said Ed Troyer, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Karnes said: "There are several cars that are hanging over the overpass".

At least six people were killed after an Amtrak train derailed and fell off. He said the track appeared relatively undisturbed, so it seemed unlikely that something knocked the train off the track, and he noted that it appeared the train drove in a straight line missing the turn.
