Ex-Wife Arrested in 2010 Murder of NBA Player

Sherra Wright, 46, has been charged with being a fugitive of justice, first-degree premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Sherra Wright has a court hearing Monday in California.

Wright's body was found in a swampy field outside of Memphis on July 28, 2010, 10 days after the 34-year-old was reported missing.

Memphis Police say its gang unit received information about Wright's death in May or June of this year. "We wanted to investigate it as if it had just happened".

That process led to several recent revelations in a case many expected would turn cold.

Turner was arrested December 5 and faces the same charges as Wright. He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

Turner was charged in the first indictment weeks after Memphis police retrieved a gun from a lake near Walnut, Mississippi in November that they later said was the murder weapon.

Controversial Judicial Nominee Brett Talley Withdraws Nomination
The move came a day after Grassley raised concerns about the statements the two nominees had made. Neither of the embattled nominees is for those more powerful circuit court positions.

Saturday brought the bombshell that Wright's ex-wife was a suspect in his murder after also being charged with first-degree murder.

Wright was questioned about her involvement by Sports Illustrated in 2015 as part of a collaborative effort by the magazine and Fox Sports 1. You can view the video below. "Then I'm a mother. The law enforcement should do what's best to find who's the killer".

Lorenzen Wright's mother Deborah Marion, told The Commercial Appeal newspaper that a police official told her Wright-Robinson will be charged with first-degree murder, the same charge Turner faces.

The seven-year investigation has been one of the Memphis Police Department's most high-profile unsolved cases in the death of Wright, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies and four other National Basketball Association teams as a forward and center in 13 seasons before retiring in 2009. Lorenzen Wright was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1996 and played for five teams before the end of his career in 2009, the Washington Post reports.

After Sherra Wright was arrested on Friday, Marion expressed her relief and thanked Jesus. She had previously given police an account of seeing him ten days before his body was found - the last time he was reportedly seen before his death.
