NYC weather: Snow blankets city Thursday morning

Snow is expected throughout central Pennsylvania with total accumulations of 2 to 4 inches expected in some places, according to the advisory, which is in effect from 7 p.m. today until 8 a.m. Thursday. However, areas to the north are seeing higher accumulations.

Light fluffy snow is blowing around tonight even as snow showers are ending. Scattered showers can be expected at night. Tuesday and Wednesday, we keep a chance at rain and snow showers with highs in the low to mid 30s. It will be a chilly day too with high temperatures in the lower to mid 20s.

The snow and subfreezing temperatures will create potentially hazardous travel conditions, with snow sticking on contact to untreated surfaces, as well as reduced visibilities, according to the weather advisory.

"There is a 40 percent chance [of snow] for Washington, and a 60 percent chance for Baltimore", the Weather Service said.
