Woody Harrelson In Talks To Join Venom Movie

The biggest hint yet arrived earlier this week, when Fleischer appeared at CCXP and revealed that the film draws from two famedVemon comic book runs: Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes.

New details came to light Monday regarding an upcoming movie starring one of Spider-Man's most feared villains - and later one of his most resolute allies - the fearsome black-suited Venom.

Slated to release in cinemas by 2019, the film will serve as Sony's second installment in its upcoming series of solo films featuring the antiheroes and supervillains from its Spider-Man franchise. The film, now in pre-production and appropriately titled Silver & Black, has recently been announced to begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia next year.

Sao Paulo's Comic Con Experience has essentially been the launch of Sony's Venom marketing. Aside from having to handle the consequences of his previous actions and the vengeance it gave birth to, Venom is also hunted by a group called Life Foundation, who would like to use his symbiote for their personal reasons. The "Peaky Blinders" actor also revealed that the film will be set in San Francisco and further stressed that "Venom" will be an important installment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

"Venom" is set to be released in theaters on October 5, 2018. It kicked off with a truce between Eddie Brock and Spider-Man, and saw Brock move to San Francisco. They sought to tap into the power of Brock's symbiote, and created five new symbiote spawn. But some other villains have other plans, which may or may not include the villain Carnage as the film's true antagonist. It's believed that the superb Riz Ahmed (The Night Of, Rogue One) is playing Carnage's host, Cletus Kasady.
